Abstract:

A model of phase transformation of a polymer system to vapor is constructed for heating modes with a rate exceeding 10(5) Ws. The experimental data obtained by the method of pulsed heating of the probe are compared with the calculation results. It is demonstrated that, in the case of fairly rapid heating, when the role of thermal destruction is minor, a supercritical transition of polymer to the gas state is observed.
