Abstract:
The article describes pilot study of the functional brain asymmetry (FBA) features for patients with organic damage of the central nervous system (CNS). In the study, we tested two patients with diagnosed organic damage of the CNS and one relatively healthy volunteer. The FBA study was conducted by means of cross-correlation and coherent analysis of the electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. The EEG signals were recorded in different functional states. Functional states were modelled by simple neuropsychological tests. As the results of the study, the significant differences were discovered between patients and healthy volunteer in different functional states. Results of the study could form the basis of the full-fledged clinical research of the FBA patterns for quantification of the cognitive potential for patients with different degree of the CNS damage
