Abstract:
Methods of constructing antenna arrays having a narrow beam width while providing a low level of side lobes are analyzed in the article. The patterns and the geometric dimensions of the antenna arrays based on patch antennas as radiating elements are presented. The method of constructing narrow beam antenna arrays, which solves the problem of too little spacing between elements, is described in the paper. The results of the calculation of antenna array constructed on the basis of this method are discussed. Besides the geometric dimensions stay comparable to the size of the array with equidistant distribution, it is provided with the radiation pattern of the same width, but with a significantly lower level of side lobes.
