Abstract:
Top spin valves of composition Ta/{[}FeNi/CoFe]/Cu/CoFe/(FeMn, Mnlr)/Ta with two types of antiferro-magnetic layers (Fe50Mn50 or Mn75Ir25) were prepared by DC magnetron sputtering. The following three-step procedure was used for the free layer hysteresis reduction: deposition of the composite free layer FeNi/CoFe, optimization of magnetic and nonmagnetic layer thicknesses and application of ``nearly parallel{''} anisotropy configuration. It is shown that in the spin valves studied the hysteresis can be effectively reduced to a few tenths of an oersted at the magnetoresistance higher than 8\%.
