Abstract:
This paper presents a Flux Reversal Machine designed for the fan applications with rotor and stator cores made of Soft Magnetic Composite materials (SMC FRM). The advantages of SMC FRM such as the short flux paths, easiness of inducing the winding MMF even when the number of poles is high and the wasteless production technology allow designing cheap and high effective motors. The SMC FRM has high efficiency and power density and its manufacture needs only a small amount of the rare-earth magnets. The SMC FRM mathematical model based on the set of the scalar magnetic potential boundary problems and allowing us not only to calculate machine power but also to estimate losses is built. The SMC FRM is designed and the calculation shows that the efficiency of SMC FRM promise to be significantly higher than the efficiency of conventional interior permanent magnet. The SMC FRM is being manufacturing now. © 2016 IEEE.
