Abstract:
In September of 2003 Russia joined to the Bologna process. Russia's participation in the Bologna process should be analyzed as changes in the structure of Russian higher education. This changes are aimed to improve the quality of higher education in Russia, to enhance the role of Russia at the international educational market. The Bologna process proclaimed a unification and harmonization of higher education. In 2010 Russia with other participants of the Bologna process were transferred to a new organization of higher education, the same type of educational cycles, the uniform requirements. In this case the unification of the system of higher education do not deny the possibility of competition among different educational programs. During the implementation of the Bologna Declaration points there was a transition of Russian higher education toward European two-tier system of higher education. As a result of the implementation of the Bologna Process in Russia the main issue is the unification of the system of higher education. This issue was solved. The new levels of higher education - bachelor and master - were formed. Now Bachelor's degree is actually the successor of the traditional Russian five-years system of higher education. Master's degree became a new level. Despite of the fact that the Bologna process was completed in 2010, until nowadays many participants of the educational process do not understand, what the Master degree is. A detailed review of some points of view among the students, the student's orientation on obtaining a Master's degree, the issues related to the institutionalization of Master's degree were described in this article.
