Abstract:
Suburban territories industrial development sets new challenges in terms of power supply reliability and energy quality improvement in distribution grids. In case of long distances from main substations, embedded generation becomes a feasible alternative for industrial customers' power supply. Because of strict reliability requirements, the paper focuses mainly on hybrid renewable-based microgrids. The authors present a multi-criteria approach of geographical and technological zoning. Provided approach serves as a decision making tool regarding the type of power supply system, while focusing on renewable energy application in ineffective climatic conditions. Renewable energy potential and power supply system are assessed based on real initial data.
