Abstract:
A semiclassical theory of high frequency electron transport in magnetic superlattices showing giant magnetoresistance is developed with temporal and spatial dispersion taken into account. Starting from the usual kinetic equations for spin-dependent distribution functions with appropriate boundary conditions, we derive a system of diffusion-like equations for distribution functions averaged over the period of the superlattice. Non-local conductivity, surface impedance, and the magnetoabsorption of the superlattice are calculated and analyzed within the proposed model.
