Abstract:
The processes of crystallization and nonlinear dynamics for the solidification of binary melt was described using Stefan frontal model. Stefan frontal model was used to determine the impurity concentration and temperature of the substance in the melt and the growing crystal. The phase-transition boundary is unknown and the phase-transition temperature (liquidus) in the two-component system was found to depend on the local impurity concentration and was determined from the phase diagram. The solidification of binary melt was accompanied by arising additional supercooled zones which were domains in the liquid phase ahead of the crystallization front, with a temperature in these zones lower than the liquidus temperature. The particle's growth rate is reduced with decreasing the supercooling and advancing deep into the two-phase zone, from the maximum. It was found that the basic increase in the crystal size occurs within the segment in which the supercooling differs from zero.
