Abstract:
The original mathematical treatment of the switching current data recorded in spatially nonuniform ferroelectrics under the action of slow-increasing field is presented. The method is based on the results of the modified Preisach approach taking into account the difference between the local coercive fields for nucleation and growth. This method allows to characterize the sample inhomogeneity by coercive field distribution function and to separate the main stages of the domain kinetics. Its validity was verified by computer simulation and experiments in Pb5Ge3O11chosen as a model ferroelectric. The analysis of the cyclic switching data in Pb(Zr, Ti)O 3 films within this method is presented.
