Abstract:
Production of coke in Russian Federation was 34.2 million tonnes in 2004. About 50 percent of the coke were processed at plants for dry coke quenching. The plant are efficient. However, disadvantage of the plant is noted. Excessive heat transfer agent of the plant contaminates environment. Emissions of sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia, and other harmful substances are observed. The excessive heat transfer agents can be neutralized by means of deep post combustion. Investigations of the post combustion have been performed. Results of the investigations have been presented.
