Abstract:
The influence of heating rate of coal charge, temperature and time of coke allowance on the amout and composition of gas evolved from it during isothermal allowance (IA) was studied. It is shown that gas evolution and, accordingly, coke mass reduction takes place continuously and ends only at the stage of its cooling. Under different conditions of experiment the content of individual components of gas constitutes, % (volumetric parts): H2 73.5-89.3; N2 5.4-15.4; CO 4.1-11.1. The basic regularities of gas evolution obtained during IA of coke are maintained duriong its cooling. A higher heating rate of coal charge results in the increase of gas evolution. The influence of technological properties of coal charge on gas evolution during coke IA was studied.
