Abstract:
Problem related to development of a power-generating unit (PGU), replacing quenching chamber and boiler of coke dry quenching facility, are considered. It is shown, that granulometric composition of coke affects noticeably the level of heat exchange, which must be taken into consideration when designing PGU for a concrete plant. Convective heat transfer factor for coke moving bed is much higher than that of immobile bed of similar granulometric composition. The second problem of development of moving solid coolant power-generating boiler consists in the danger of abrasive wear of heat-exchange surfaces (panels). Abrasive wear resistance of different cast irons and steels depending on temperature was studied. It is assumed that panels covered by boiler steel sheets will serve reliably for 8-10 years.
