Abstract:
Experimental data show that heat treatment of the charge under otherwise identical conditions leads to a significant increase in bursting pressure. However, the critical level, which amounts to 70 kPa, is not reached. As a result of preliminary heating, the bursting pressure in charge A rose by a factor of 2 and reached 35.5 kPa and in charge G it rose 2.8 times and amounted to 47.5 kPa. The bursting pressure during coking of moist charges depends only somewhat on the content of gas coals in them. In comparing the bursting pressures of heat treated charges A, B, and C it is apparent that the relation between bursting pressure and content of gas coals is extremal in nature. It is also shown that heat treatment of a charge leads to an increase in bursting pressure especially in the initial stage of coking, but this pressure does not reach the critical level and can be controlled by changing the composition of the charge and the coking conditions.
