Abstract:
The aging processes of the 01N18M4T and 03N18K3M3T maraging steels of commercial making are investigated. The resistometric research and differential thermal analysis of the aging processes are made. The crack propagation rates, effective activation energy of delayed fracture and solid solution decomposition are calculated. It is shown that the normal diffusion processes, accompanied by phase initiation and growing, are absent at the initial stages of aging (350-450°C). The ternary quenching with sufficiently high heating aids an avoidance of catastrophic delayed fracture.
