Abstract:
A study was made of the structure, mechanical properties and resistance to cavitation in aggressive media of maraging steel 03Kh10N5K5M3DTYuS. It was a higher resistance to cavitation than austenitic steel. The steel possesses high resistance to cavitation in solutions of sulphuric, phosphoric and nitricc acids after quenching from 1050 degree C and ageing at 520-540 degree C. These programmes give a combination of high proof stress and impact toughness and enhanced resistance to brittle spread of microcracks at the stage of intensive cavitation.
