Abstract:
During heating of the martensite of Fe-Cr-Co alloys in the 400-500 degree C temperature range solid solution decomposition processes of short-range-order and phase-separation type occur intensely, which reduces the corrosion resistance of the alloys. At high cobalt concentrations (no less than 20%) a long-range order of FeCo type can be established, which affects the corrosion properties in the opposite way in comparison with the effect of chromium phase separation.
