Abstract:
The authors studied the structure and processes initiated during aging of a number of Fe-Cr-Co alloys and their influence on corrosion resistance. In the temperature range of 400-500 degree C, heating of the martensite leads to decomposition of the short-range order solid solution and to chromium stratification which result in reduced corrosion resistance. Increasing the cobalt content to above 20% causes the formation of FeCo long-range order and increases corrosion resistance.
