Abstract:
Ferroelectric microdomains and nanodomains in Czochralski-grown along X-axis periodically poled LiNbO3:Y:Fe were studied by chemical etching followed by the characterization of +Z, -Z, and Y surfaces with atomic force microscopy. Atomic force microscopy pictures and domain structure profiles are dependent on etching time and temperature. Inside basic domains of the periodic structure we observed reverse-polarized microdomains: on +Z surfaces the tree-sided pits; on -Z surfaces-small pyramids are formed by rombohedron {01[image omitted]2} faces.
