Abstract:
The contribution of the surface flow of a gas to the total flow rate has been investigated experimentally on the basis of the method of the gas-dynamic monitoring of nuclear ultrafiltration membranes in the gases He, N2, Kr, and Xe. The characteristic parameters of the surface diffusion for each gas has been determined, and approximation plots, on the basis of which the boundaries of the applicability of the method were selected, have been determined. The membranes have been prepared by the bombardment of industrial polyethylene terephthalate films with a monoenergetic beam of Xe-129 particles.
