Abstract:

Investigations of air pressure pulsations under a bed of finely dispersed material (electrocorundum particles, d equals 0. 25 mm) vibrating in a plexiglass vessel 100 mm in diameter are described. A formula for maximum pulsations of gas pressure under the bed, conceived as a rigid porous body through which gas is filtrated, is experimentally checked. It is found that the formula is valid only up to a certain point.
