Abstract:
A method is developed for an approximate calculation of the heating time of bodies of simple shape (infinite plate and cylinder, sphere) for cases where the heating process is complicated by endo- or exothermal phase transformation taking place in the body. The approximated solution of the task of phase transfer with variable boundary conditions of type I was taken as the basis of the calculation. Calculated expressions were checked experimentally during the heating of cylindrical specimens of sideritic ore, accompanied by the decomposition of the iron and magnesium carbonates. The deviation between the calculated and experimental values does not exceed 2. 5%.
