Abstract:
The LiCoO2 complex oxide was for the first time treated as a variable composition compound capable of oxygen exchange with the gas phase even at low temperatures. A detailed magnetochemical study was performed to distinguish between inherited defects and defects formed in exchange with the gas phase directly during magnetic susceptibility measurements. Conclusions on the nature of the defects were drawn and the thermodynamic parameters of defect formation were estimated.
