Abstract:
The structural states and deformation parameters of alloys ordered after subzero treatment are investigated theoretically and experimentally on the basis of the analysis reported in parts I and parts II [1]. A possible explanation is suggested for the improvement in the plasticity of the ordered alloy after considerable deformation in the disordered state. The formation of polygonal arrays on domain walls is identified as playing an important part in the improvement of plasticity as a result of the L10 type of ordering. Not only does it substantially delay recrystallization but, thanks to the peculiar dislocation mechanism, it ensures that the deformation is transmitted across the walls.
