Abstract:
A cellular model of a porous membrane has been developed. The model takes account of surface diffusion both on the ends and walls of pores. The mutual interaction between the channels in the membrane has been studied, and conditions have been determined, when these channels are independent. A by-layer model for gas migration in a monolith membrane has been constructed. The contribution of surface resistances to total resistance of the membrane has been discussed. By comparing the model with experiment, values of diffusion energy activation have been obtained both in the surface layer of the membrane and in its volume.
