Abstract:
A statistical model of active ion transport in the biomembrane is proposed allowing for conformational changes in ATPase. The distribution function of ATPase over the conformational states was obtained. The coefficient of energy conversion is introduced for active ion transport allowing for the non-linearity of this process. The parameters of ion transfer and the characteristics of the conformational states of ATPase were found on the assumption of a maximum of the coefficient of energy conversion. It is shown that the results agree with the data on active ion transport in biomembranes. © 1993.
