Abstract:
A possibility for formation of crystallized layers containing ordered bcc-phase with texture of {100} type on the tape surface of contact and free sides under melt super-rapid quenching is considered. A model of two-side surface crystallization of rapidly-quenched tapes of Fe-Nb-Cu-Si-B, based on oriented heterogeneous nucleation in the surface layer of initial melt and following crystal growth in the bulk of liquid layer is suggested. In this case, the nucleation process is limited by motion forward of temperature front corresponding to vitrification interval.
