Abstract:
The processes of anodic dissolution of niobium-aluminium alloys and cathodic reduction of these metals were investigated in NaCl-KCl based melts by galvanostatic, chronopotentiometric and Potentiometrie methods. The mechanisms of corresponding electrode reactions were determined and the conditions for aluminium dissolution from the anode and Al formation on the cathode were established. The method of electrorefining niobium from Nb-Al alloys produced by alumothermic reduction was developed.
