Abstract:
Pig aluminum and wire aluminum is traditionally utilized for steel deoxidation in steelmaking furnace and ladle. However, assimilation of aluminum is low in this case. Therefore, ferroaluminum of various grades has been developed. The ferroaluminum is melted in induction furnace from scrap of St3 steel and aluminum scrap. Tests of the ferroaluminum have been performed. Deoxidation of steel with the ferroaluminum has been carried out in steelmaking furnace and ladle. Steels of St20, 110G13FTL and other grades have been smelted in basic oxygen converters, electric arc furnaces, and open-hearth furnaces. Ladle treatment of the steels has been performed. Efficiency of utilization of the ferroaluminium has been shown.
