Abstract:
The oxidation kinetics of liquid binary (Fe-Ni) and ternary (Fe-Si-Ni) systems with different ratio of Fe/Si and Fe/Ni is studied by the gravimetric method. It is found that the rise of Si content in ferrosiliconickel leads to stable increasing in oxidation resistance. An intensity and degree of oxidation are related to composition and properties of oxide films formed at the surface of alloys. Oxidation resistance is raised in alloys with high content of Ni (35%). The temperature rise of melts from 1400 to 1600°C results in stable oxidation growth.
