Abstract:
The thermal characteristics of complex ferroalloys based on silicon with barium, calcium, aluminum, magnesium, rare earth metals are studied. The procedures and the results of experiments and calculations are given for heat capacity, heat- and temperature conductivity, heat and temperature of melting. It is shown that the addition of Ba, Al and REM changes the thermal properties which influence essentially a melting process. The ferroalloy characteristics such as melting time, dissolution heat effect, density, melting temperature influence steel quality.
