Abstract:
The technique of studying the formation of bubble structure in the films of silicate melts is devised. It is experimentally shown that the number of bubbles, the specific surface of gas phase, and its volume fraction decrease with an increase in time. The size distribution of bubbles is close to the lognormal law. The mean diameter of bubbles linearly increases with time. The formation of bubble structure is determined by the coalescence of gas bubbles and the disappearance of those with a diameter exceeding the film thickness.
