Abstract:
The gases evolving from the body of the steel substrate and desorbing from its surface under the heating in the process of glazing are determined. It is shown that the effect of the steel substrate on the composition of the gas bubbles in the glass enamel is related to the formation of carbon monoxide as a result of the reactions of carbon with oxygen and the hydrogen evolution. The gases were identified using mass spectrometry technique.
