Abstract:

A phase-component model is proposed for the hydrochemical conversion of silver chloride to AgCl xBr 1-x solid solutions, and the corresponding quantitative relations are derived. Experimental data are used to obtain a relation between the equilibrium composition of solid solutions and that of the liquid phase at different temperatures. The possible mechanisms of solid-solution formation are considered. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd., 2010.
