Abstract:
The method of generalized efficiencies as applied to metallurgy for concurrently proceeding mass and heat transfer processes is under consideration. The concepts are introduced about exchange and final physicochemical efficiencies. Their relationships are show with thermodynamic efficiency, a degree of chemical regeneration and coefficient of chemical losses. Formulae for determination of mass and energy fluxes in metallurgical processes are derived with the use of efficiency factors. As an example the application of the methodology developed is show for the processes of iron ore reduction in a blast furnace and of pellets prereduction in a shaft furnace. The method of effectivenesses is aimed at development of promising material-and energy-saving metallurgical technologies.
