Abstract:
The addition of a microprocessor-based data-processing and control unit makes it possible to increase the accuracy of vibrating measuring instruments by enabling statistical processing of the results, allowing for the main destabilizing factors to be accounted for and the results to be suitably corrected. This article looks at the example of a vibrations-phase densimeter. Laboratory tests proved that adding the microprocessor-based control unit reduced the relative density measurement error. Moreover, the calibration procedure was much simplified and electromechanical adjustment was no longer necessary.
