Abstract:
An examination is made of the method of pulsed-jet roof heating of reheating and heat treatment furnaces, achieved by means of FSG-R burners with a controlled jet length ensuring equalization of the temperature fields of the furnace roof and consequently the fields of heat flows impinging on the metal. A zonal mathematical model of a furnace section with pulsed-jet roof heating was developed to study the influence of variation in the length of a group of jets on the thermal operation of a furnace. Results of calculation were compared with experimental data obtained on a reheating furnace.
