Abstract:

Investigations on the technique of intensifying metal heating in continuous roof fired furnaces by causing high speed air or gas jets to impinge on the metal surface are described. to prevent excessive oxidation losses when oxidizing gases are used, the injection should be carried out in furnace zones where the metal surface temperature does not exceed 700 degree C.
