Abstract:
It is shown that thermal insulation of the dome, on the one hand, improves the heat transfer in the furnace, but, on the other, impairs the temperature conditions of service of the masonry. The use of water or evaporative cooling of the lining is possible only on individual sections of the dome, owing to a great increase in the thermal losses and a sharp reduction of the productivity of the furnace. Rational conditions for cooling the refractory lining for the operating range of change in the regime parameters of a reverberatory furnace are chosen.
