Abstract:
Data concerning the integral normal emissivity of five types of tubular steel are presented. A significant decrease in emissivity during heating in a hydrogen atmosphere in comparison with heating in a neutral atmosphere is established. During heating in a reducing medium up to 800-900 degree C the emissivity increased with an increase in temperature, while above 1050-1100 degree C a decrease in emissivity was observed. An increase in the hydrogen concentration from 4 to 10% had no appreciable effect on the emissivity values.
