Abstract:
Tests on the reformation of natural gas in air preheated to 1000 - 1100 degree C in reformation chambers have been made at the A. K. Serov Steelworks; laws and optimum conditions for reformation have been established. The use of reformed natural gas for the gas-oil firing of high-temperature furnaces reduces the proportion of fuel oil from 40 - 50 to 20 - 25% (by Heat), without lowering the degree of blackness of the flame or the flow of heat into the bath.
