Abstract:
The high carbon coke made from petroleum and coal raw materials is widely used for anodes and graphitized electrodes production. In Russia the high-temperature pitch coke for electrochemical electrodes is produced in the coking chambers. Recently the alternative method of pitch coke production using the retarded coking process is developed. As shown, the latter is the most promising method from ecological point of view, but the basic technical economical characteristics of this process are second to the chamber technology.
