Abstract:
Investigations on the development of effective designs of sealing devices for rolling mills are described. The devices are based on the application of new types of lips. When developing new designs of the lips the main approach consisted in the provision of minimum possible force interaction between rubbing elements and also the optimal position of the sealing sponge of a lip relatively a steel surface. The conclusion is made that developed and tested new seals may be recommended for using practically in all types of rolling mills.
