Abstract:
The study of the features of the kinetics of multicomponent mass transfer in strongly nonequilibrium systems with mobile interfaces permits determining the nature of the interaction between the components of the exchanged phases. With high concentration gradients and high absolute values of the concentration of the transferred components, the experimentally observed effect of the hydrodynamic interaction, related to the effect of the diffusion on the hydrodynamics, becomes pronounced. In the present study, this effect is illustrated. The study of extraction systems with simultaneous transfer of two components, one in a concentration vastly higher than the other, makes it possible to obtain information on the quantitative characteristics of the diffusion interaction. The results are in agreement with the theoretical conclusions on the nature of the diffusion interaction.
