Abstract:
The wetting edge angles of glassy enamel melt at tungsten and platinum are determined by the method of 'small drop' over the range from softening temperature to 1100°C. An influence of enamel composition and gas environment on edge angle magnitude is estimated. Low-melting enamel, containing oxides of Si, B, Na, Al, Fe, Ca, Mn, Co, K, Li, Mo and W, and argon (air) environment are used for vitrification of coating at the metallic substrate. The wetting edge angle may be used in estimation of adhesive strength of coating with the metallic substrate.
