Abstract:
The mechanism of dumping of finely divided material through a grid related to pressure pulsations in a fluidized bed is considered. Analytical expressions were obtained for determination of fluidization and pressure-drop parameters of the grid excluding dumping. An analyis shows that the pressure drop through the gas-distributing grid must be very significant in order to preclude reverse gas flow through the bubble caps in the entire range of fluidization numbers. This leads to a redistribution of the energy gas compression. With a lower pressure drop through the grid, dumping can be prevented if a settling zone for the particles is made within the bubble cap.
