Abstract:
Pressure fluctuations in the bulk of a fluidized bed have been studied experimentally. The fundamental fluctuation frequency is shown to be related to the emergence of gas bubbles at the surface of the bed. A model of gravitational oscillations of fluidized-bed material is proposed which has permitted derivation of a formula to determine the fundamental frequency of pressure fluctuations in a bubbling bed. © 1986.
