Abstract:
The method of small-angle neutron scattering was used to study the kinetics of nucleation and growth of helium bubbles in fast neutron irradiated polycrystalline beryllium during vacuum annealing in the temperature range of 350 to 1100°C. It is revealed that the effective radius of bubbles increases from 40 to 120 A with annealing temperature rise from 650 to 1100°C. The distribution function for bubble size is determined. Bubble nucleation and growth are found to proceed in the range of 650-1100°C with much the same intensity.
