Abstract:
Magnetic and neutron diffraction investigations are made of quasibinary compounds Ho(Co//1// minus //xNi//x)//5 (0 less than equivalent to x less than equivalent to 1) in the temperature range 1. 8-1050 K. The temperature dependence of the mean magnetic moment of the compounds, magnetizations of a-, c- and g-sublattices, and angle of orientation of the magnetic moments relative to the c axis are determined. Relations describing the temperature dependence of magnetization of the rare-earth sublattice of quasibinary compounds R(Co//1// minus //xNi//x)//5 are obtained. The sublattice exchange energy and microscopic second-order anisotropy constant of the Ho ion are found.
