Abstract:
The state of Cu(II) ions in a KB-2 × 4 carboxyl cation exchanger in the initial mixed H+-Na+ form was studied depending on the content of the Na+ form, the amount of adsorbed Cu(II) ions, sample moisture content, and pH within ionite grains. Acidity of the ionite phase was found to play the key role in the formation of complexes having various compositions and in determining the catalytic properties of ionite catalysts containing Cu(II).
